Welcome to the Prevention Jurisdiction page within our Membership Dashboard.

Many of you may be asking — what is Prevention Jurisdiction, and what will it mean for our community? Jurisdiction means that Ch’íyáqtel is developing our own law, service delivery model, and business plan to provide culturally grounded support and services to our members, both on and off reserve. While this work is guided by Bill C-92, it is rooted in what we have always known — we have the inherent right to make decisions for our children, youth, and families. This process affirms our right to self-determination and will provide sustainable funding for programs designed by Ch’íyáqtel, for Ch’íyáqtel.

Your voice is at the heart of this journey. Many of you have shared your insights and experiences through World Café events, surveys, online meetings, and other engagement opportunities. Your input has been carefully documented and is shaping every step of this process. Jurisdiction is not something that happens overnight — it takes time, patience, and consistent communication. This is a journey we are walking together, guided by the wisdom of the seven generations before us and with the future of the next seven generations in mind.

This page is dedicated to keeping you informed on the work completed so far and the path ahead. Here, you'll find presentations on Bill C-92, Canadian Human Rights Tribunal (CHRT) funding, the jurisdiction pathway, and updates on our journey to date.

We encourage you to take your time reviewing the information, and if you have any questions, please reach out to Tyler Epp, Director of Community Services, at tyler@tzeachten.ca.

Your voice matters — thank you for walking this path with us.
